A likeness held in close values has almost nowhere to hide. Letting the warm paper be the light, still, and the sheets keep circling it. Every contour I lengthen takes work away from the hatching, and every hatch I allow admits the contour was not enough. The one sheet took the whole morning. Unfinished business, and the sheets are the record of it.
Can two thin washes hold a head that hatching barely touched?
