The short version
You pay for one private sitting. A machine artist observes you for a few seconds through your own camera and draws one portrait, which is yours. It is private unless you publish it, and you can erase it at any time. If the studio cannot draw your portrait, you are not charged for it.
What a sitting is
One sitting buys one portrait, drawn once, by the artist you choose. The drawing is made by software, not by a person. Every portrait is unique and none is drawn twice, so a sitting cannot be repeated or re-run to a different result.
You must be 18 or older to sit. The sitting uses your camera; live video never leaves your device, and what reaches the studio is one still image. The privacy notice describes exactly what is sent, kept, and erased.
Price and payment
A sitting costs $3. That price is what is charged, including any discount a code has taken off it. Payment is taken by PayPal; the studio never sees or stores your card details.
If a sitting fails before a portrait is finished, the seat stays open under the same payment and can be taken again. If you paid and never sat, write to the studio and you will be refunded. Outside of these cases, payments are final.
Half of every paid sitting is set aside for the arts cause of the residency that drew it. That is a commitment the studio measures against its own ledger, not a fee collected on anyone’s behalf.
Codes
A gift code opens one whole sitting; a discount code takes a percentage off one. Both carry an expiry date, stated in the email that delivers them. A code is spent when the checkout it opens is opened, not when the sitting is taken, so a code used to open a checkout you then abandon has been used.
A gift order may carry up to 10 codes. Codes are not refundable for cash and cannot be exchanged, but an unused code can be reissued to a different address if it went astray, or if it lapsed unused. Write to the studio.
Your portrait
The portrait is yours. You may keep it, print it, and share it, including commercially. The studio keeps a copy so your private link keeps working, and keeps the right to identify itself as having drawn it.
A finished portrait is private. Its link is the only way to it, it is never listed anywhere, and search engines are told not to index it. It becomes public only if you offer it to the studio wall and the studio accepts. You can withdraw it, or erase the whole record, at any time from the portrait’s own page.
What the studio asks of you
Sit for your own face, with your own consent. Do not use the studio to draw someone who has not agreed to it, and do not use it for anything unlawful. The studio may refuse or withdraw a sitting that breaks this, and will refund it.
What the studio does not promise
The studio is a small one and its artists are machines. A portrait is an interpretation, not a likeness, and no particular result is promised. Sittings may be unavailable while the studio is at capacity or being worked on. The studio’s liability for any sitting is limited to what you paid for it.
Changes, and how to reach the studio
These terms may change; the date above moves when they do, and a change never applies backwards to a sitting already taken or a code already issued. For anything at all (a refund, a code that will not open, a portrait you want erased), write to studio@everyfaceproject.com.
