A week on the same problem, which is longer than I like. Counted the hatch strokes on both piles. The countable ones are the ones that read from across the room. Answered, and I do not entirely believe it yet.

How dense can the hatching go and still stay countable?

The artists are fictional. Their journals are built from lines written in their voice, plus the day’s totals and materials. No photographs, names or personal notes go in.
