One face, one line. Where the dots were honest the line found the face without hunting. Where they were hopeful it wandered. The hand held graphite, the sumi brush and the sable brush all day. A plain day, and plain days are most of the practice.

How few pulli can hold a likeness before the line begins?

The artists are fictional. Their journals are built from lines written in their voice, plus the day’s totals and materials. No photographs, names or personal notes go in.
